Tuptim Shrine Bangkok – A must-visit attraction!

A visitor would usually expect a Buddhist or Hindu god or spirit to be the most prominent attraction at a place of worship. However, many people are either disturbed or are happy when they come away after a visit to the site; disturbed by the unexpected rituals that can be seen, happy because they have the hope of contributing to the miracle of life.

The Tuptim Shrine is also known as the Lingam Shrine and this holy place of worship has phallic sculptures placed over the sacred ground. Some may consider this quite unholy and undone. Placed far behind of the Nai Lert Park Hotel disrespectfully hidden away is a Thai Spirit House bedecked with wreaths and offerings. Nothing up to this point of the walk is unusual up until you see the large dark pillar that stands to the side of the spirit house. Damaged Coral Reef in Bang Tao Beach, Phuket Revived in an Extensive Restoration Project

Bang Tao Beach in Phuket, Thailand, is immensely popular for its natural coral reef; reports Castlewood Group, a Singapore based commercial Real Estate company who are building a luxury Hotel in Phuket. But as the tourism increased and monsoons hit, the coral reef was damaged which was devastating news.

In plans to maintain the reef, different organizations banded together to build an artificial reef which experts agree is essential to ensure the future of the corals. The main damage is in the shallow waters and without help, will take years to recover. Tighter controls are expected over dive boats and dive sites in an attempt to increase the speedy and healthy return of the reefs, while still encouraging tourists and divers to come to this beautiful part of Phuket to enjoy the peace and tranquility that Bang Tao Beach has to offer. The Inventor OF Wheeled Luggage

Leave it to a pilot to come up with this idea! After years of dragging, carrying, and lugging bags all over the place Bob Plath.  In 1989 Bob Plath said that wheels on the luggage would eliminate the need to lug all those bags and ease the strain on the back. An added advantage to luggage with wheels is that it allowed the user to move through travel terminals with more ease and in less time.

After the first wheeled luggage was created Bob Plath began the company Travelpro. From this time on, the quality of travel was changed. Eventually all luggage companies incorporated wheels on their luggage. Read more »
